Disc Two: Robert Kirkman Takes A Tour of the FX Studio Behind WALKING DEAD

The very first time I heard about Greg Nicotero was in the late 1990s. Dimension films had put together a 2-disc DVD for From Dusk 'til Dawn that included the amazing making of documentary titled Full Tilt Boogie. The 90-minute doc followed the film from pre-production to post. Prominently featured throughout were effects and make-up masters Bob Kurtzman,Greg Nicotero, and Howard Berger, known by film nerds as the "K.N.B. Group."

Ever since then, the highly-detailed works of Nicotero and company have been unmistakably recognizable to me. So much in fact that upon viewing the original airing of The Walking Dead pilot I instantly informed anyone within earshot that the infamous "bicycle girl" must've been his handy work.

It was.

Nobody else in the room was impressed.

Jerks.

In the following video, Walking Dead (co-?)creator Robert Kirkman gets an all too brief tour of the Nicotero studio. Considering the fact that his effects credits range from Army of Darkness to The Great and Powerful Oz (to name just a few), you might recognize plenty of things from some of your favorite films.
