Tunesday: John Williams Legacy in Song
Posted on 12:28 by gllapsi
I'm a little short on time this week, so I'll make today's Tunesday intro a brief one...
You can't really talk about movie music without mentioning John Williams. The composer behind the classic themes for Star Wars, Jaws, Harry Potter, and Raiders of the Lost Ark has cemented his legacy, impacting generations of fans and musicians. The proof can be found in the following collection of YouTube artists covering Williams's "Imperial March" from Empire Strikes Back.
Special thanks to AAGG's own Stephen Sumner for sending these my way.
Seriously, very few musicians -- regardless of genre -- will ever touch the level of influence that John Williams has made on pop culture.
